Equestrian Activities
Blue Moon Ranch is open for public riding.  Our horses are gentle and ready to ride on 50 acres of ranch land thousands of acres of public land.

All require a reservation--please call (352) 578-4947.  Children must be at least 6 years old, no double riding, and the last on-site trail ride leaves at 4 p.m.

Horse Riding Activities

Lessons--

Adult group riding lessons begin in October--they will be held on Wednesday mornings from 10:30 a.m. - noon.  The fee is $40, please call 24 hours in advance to reserve your horse.

Youth Lessons are generally after school; however, some are given during the day.  Call the number above for information.

Trail Rides and Horse Show/Play Days--

On-Site Trail Rides:  On-site trail riding at the ranch is on-going.  The cost is $50/horse/hour.  

Off-Site Trail Ride:  We will take off-site trail rides for 5 - 10 people.  The cost is $65/horse/90 minute ride.  Please call 36 hours in advance for a reservation.

All Day Trail Ride:  We will do an all-day trail ride for $80 with lunch included.  Please call 48 hours in advance for a reservation.  A minimum of four riders is required.

Steak-Out Trail Ride:  Enjoy a beautiful outdoor ride and relax with dinner at the ranch or an off-site location of your choice.  Blue Moon Ranch offers a special rate for groups which includes a one-hour ride and dinner.  Choice of Mesa steak or chicken breast from the grill with ranch chips, wagon train beans, baked spuds, Texas toast, and cowgirl brownie.  To wash it all down, your choice of tea, lemonade, or water.

Horse Show/Play Days:  Blue Moon Ranch hosts a horse show/play day the first Saturday of the month October - May with the exception of January (see event calendar for dates).  Bring your own horse (with Coggins report) or ride on of ours.  The cost is $7/event or $40 for all events.  Riding events are classed by age levels and everyone is welcome to enter.  The events vary from month-to-month but may include, but not limited to, :  trail, horsemanship, western pleasure, Texas barrels, cloverleaf, keyhole, pole bending, and relays.  Kathy always likes to throw in some fun activity as well.  There is no admission for spectators.

The 4H Arena Wranglers provide lunch concessions as a fundraiser for the club.
